Atlantic Coast Horse Trek - 8 Days from Essaouira
About this experience
An eight-day trek, six of them on horseback, along the Atlantic coast south of Essaouira. Meet fishing villages, small wild beaches and freshwater springs that surface on the sand at low tide, and ride clifftop paths with views that stop you in your tracks. Every day brings new ground to practise walk, trot and canter, and a growing bond with your horse, which you water and feed at the end of each day. The chef cooks a different Moroccan dish every day.

Itinerary
Welcome at Marrakech or Essaouira airport, transfer to Essaouira, briefing, dinner and night in a hotel.
Eucalyptus and mimosa forest, deserted beaches, narrow trails, Berber villages, dunes and waterfalls, then clifftops and inland plateaus. Nights at the bivouac.
Final ride along the coast.
Transfer to the airport.
Important Information
Fixed departure dates: 19 to 26 Dec 2026; 13 to 20 Mar 2027; 22 to 29 May 2027; 25 Sep to 2 Oct 2027; 30 Oct to 6 Nov 2027; 4 to 11 Mar 2028. Riders must be comfortable at walk, trot and canter, keep a good posture at the trot and weigh no more than 90 kg. Everyone helps care for their own horse during the trek. The camp night needs a booking and passport details at least two weeks ahead, as required by the Essaouira authorities. Book a flight arriving at Marrakech airport by 14:00 on day 1 and leaving Marrakech at 12:00 or later on the last day; outside these times a private taxi costs about 80 EUR, shared between travellers. Travel insurance with medical cover that includes horse riding is required. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your arrival in Morocco.
Cancellation Policy
If you cancel before the trip for your own reasons, the organiser does not refund the trip price: the travel insurance with cancellation cover required for this trek lets you claim it back, so take it out when you book.
