Amazigh Horse Trek - 8 Days from Agadir to Essaouira
About this experience
An eight-day adventure with six days on horseback: four in the mountains and two along beaches and cliffs, covering about 180 km between Agadir and Essaouira. Start on dirt tracks winding through hills of argan trees and cactus, cross valleys with lively traditional souks and the lands of the Ida Ou Tanane, leave the foothills of the Anti-Atlas across long farming plains, and finish riding beaches and clifftops as the sun sets over the ocean.

Itinerary
Welcome at Marrakech or Essaouira airport, transfer to Essaouira, briefing, dinner and night in a hotel.
Early drive to the start near Agadir, then days through argan hills, souk valleys and the Ida Ou Tanane lands towards the coast, with beach rides and clifftop walks. Nights at the bivouac.
Last ride towards Essaouira.
Transfer to the airport.
Important Information
Fixed departure dates: 21 to 28 Nov 2026; 17 to 24 Apr 2027; 5 to 12 Jun 2027; 9 to 16 Oct 2027. Riders must be comfortable at walk, trot and canter, keep a good posture at the trot and weigh no more than 90 kg. Everyone helps care for their own horse during the trek. The camp night needs a booking and passport details at least two weeks ahead, as required by the Essaouira authorities. Book a flight arriving at Marrakech airport by 14:00 on day 1 and leaving Marrakech at 12:00 or later on the last day; outside these times a private taxi costs about 80 EUR, shared between travellers. Travel insurance with medical cover that includes horse riding is required. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your arrival in Morocco.
Cancellation Policy
If you cancel before the trip for your own reasons, the organiser does not refund the trip price: the travel insurance with cancellation cover required for this trek lets you claim it back, so take it out when you book.
